Privacy Policy

For Therapy Sessions:

Confidentiality is ensured for therapy sessions, barring a few special circumstances specified below. Confidentiality means that the therapist has a responsibility to safeguard information obtained during counselling. All identifying information about your sessions is kept confidential, except as mandated by law. Our sessions together remain strictly confidential within the following limitations:

• I take our work to clinical supervision. This is standard practice and helps me work as well as I can with you. However, all identifiable details are kept confidential.

• If your therapist believes that you are at risk of harming yourself or others, they reserve the right to break confidentiality in order to prevent harm. However, they would only do this in extreme circumstances and would always try to discuss it with you first before taking any action

• If required by a court of law to give evidence (e.g. in criminal proceedings)

Outside these limits, every effort will be made to ensure that your experience is safe and confidential. Confidentiality of any information exchanged outside of the confines of session will be dependant on the safety of the digital platform it is exchanged via and can not be ensured.

For Group Spaces

While confidentiality is encouraged in group spaces, it cannot be guaranteed. Recognising the limitations of being able to implement confidentiality with several group members, I encourage you to only bring to the group/workshop what feels safe for you.
